Toronto's cheapest airline for shorthaul flights. Porter Air is the best airline to use if you are heading to any major city close to Toronto. If your flight is less than 3 hours long, there is no reason to be using Air Canada. Porter flies out of Toronto Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport, which was formerly called City Center Airport.

Cheap Flights

Go to the Porter Air website and check out the prices for yourself. The flights are so cheap, you'll never use Air Canada ever again! And better yet, search around the internet for a coupon and you'll save another 10-20 percent off flights. They are basically as cheap as the VIA Rail and takes a fraction of the travel time.

Free Beer, Wine, and Meal

This should have been the #1 best reason, but I didn't want to make it seem like Porter Air is an alcoholic's paradise. Have you have ever been on a flight and jealous of the free alcohol that they get in first class? At Porter Air, all the seats are cheap and all the seats get free beer. A free glass of wine also goes good with your free sandwich and fruit cup.

Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport is Downtown

They couldn't have chosen a better location to put an airport. If you are coming to Toronto for business, your meetings are likely downtown. If you are coming for fun, you are definitely heading downtown. Landing at the downtown Toronto airport is like saving an extra hour and 50 bucks one way.

Refreshing Ferry Ride

Possibly the shortest ferry ever (500 meters), but it is so much more fun than being stuck in traffic. Start your journey (flight) with some refreshing great lake air.

Great View of Toronto

On a Porter airplane, you get an unrivalled view of downtown Toronto. It is as good as Google's "Street View Maps".

Compared to Toronto Pearson Airport, you will notice the staff is much more polite at the Billy Bishop Airport. It's a less busy airport, so checking in, and security check waits are much faster too.

Porter is Expanding to More Destinations

In these frugal times, Porter Air is quickly raising in popularity. They are expanding the Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (formerly City Center Airport) and flying to more destinations. Check their website in case my list is outdated.

Polluting Less, Flying Greener

Porter's new Bombardier Q400 planes are small and fuel efficient planes. You are not driving in a traffic jam, so you pollute less. There is also one less car on the road and everyone that is driving gets to their destinations faster (less gas used).
